Visit to Wembworthy
Our Year 5 children go on a residential visit to Wembworthy each year where they have the opportunity to take part in various activities including Practical Team Challenge, Shelter Building, Night Walk, Cookout, Archery, Orienteering, Traversing Wall and Woodland Wildlife Discovery.

Arts Week
Each year our School has an Arts Week which is organised by Mrs Bright, our Art Co-ordinator. The whole school is involved in various art and craft activities all week. Local artists, theatre groups and craftsmen are also invited in to work with the children. Below is some of the work produced during the week:

Paignton
Year 4 go on a residential visit to Paignton Zoo for a week. They take part in a wide range of curriculum based activities in the Zoo’s educational centre.

During the busy week we manage to find time to stop off at Goodrington Sands!
Heatree
Year 6 visit Heatree House on Dartmoor for a week of outdoor pursuit activities. These include a rock scramble, adventure course, kayaking, abseiling, archery and raft building.

Readathon
In October we held a book week which included a sponsored read. This raised nearly £600 which was used to purchase books for the library and the children helped to choose the books from the display put on by a book club. Staff put on a performance of “Mrs Armitage on Wheels” for the children during the week.

Robin Hood

Shoebox Appeal

SATs breakfast
Each year during SATs week we open the school early to year 6 children and provide breakfast for them. This is very well supported and appreciated by the children and helps to calm them down before sitting their tests.

Coldharbour Mill

Sports Day
We try to have a Sports Day each year, weather permitting! The older and younger children enjoy participating together. The children are divided into their Home Groups and take part in fun team games.

Tiverton Town Trail
Year 4 tackle the Town Trail each year and can be seen here having a break to sketch a local landmark.

Grand Western Canal
The local Grand Western Canal provides valuable opportunities for the children to learn about wildlife and the environment. Here is Year 1 having a guided walk.

Drama
The M&M Theatre Company came to visit us and performed ‘Charlotte’s Web’ for the whole school. It was so successful we have already booked a return visit!

Peer Mediation
The School has recently introduced a Peer Mediation Scheme whereby volunteers from Years 5 and 6 receive training in dealing with minor disputes that sometimes arise within school. The Mediators enjoy their additional responsibility.
Performing Arts
Earlier in the year the school enjoyed several visits from the ‘Junk Band’. All the children had the opportunity to play different instruments and the week ended with a concert by Year 6 for the children, staff and parents to enjoy.

Throughout the year we have a wide range of visitors and guest speakers coming into the school:
- Pudsey Bear visits our Foundation Stage

- Mrs Bright brings in her pet dog Honey to see our Foundation Stage children

- A firefighter visits Year 2 and Key Stage 2 to give a talk about fire safety

- A local Vet visits our Foundation Stage to talk about caring for our pets
