On-line Child Protection

Parents and children can access resources on safe use of the internet, or report on-line abuse, at the following site staffed by the Police service.

Tidcombe Primary School Child Protection

If you have any concerns about any child, and feel that you need to speak to someone to discuss these concerns, then please telephone the school on 01884 252973 or come into the school office.

The school has two staff fully trained in Child Protection:  Adam Evans and Iain Randall.  Adam Evans is our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). In his absence, the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Iain Randall can carry out his role.

Our school is fully compliant with KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) and the latest statutory guidance can be found below.

Keeping Children Safe in Education

This means that any visitors to the school will have to have background checks carried out prior to visiting OR be accompanied at all times. We can’t always guarantee that staff will be available to accompany you, so you may be turned away because of this, please contact us prior to your visit.

If you would rather speak to someone out of school, or during school holidays, then please contact:

  • CYPS Child Protection Team 0844  8805838 (Monday to Friday 9a.m.-5p.m.) or
  • Emergency Duty Team 0845 6000 388 (outside of normal office hours.)
  • MASH 0345 155 1071
Parents who have concerns about their children may look to schools as a trusted source of advice on how to keep their children safe from these risks. In addition to material produced by local authorities and the police, such as the new “Prevent Strategies” online campaign launched by the Police (www.preventtragedies.co.uk) – there are online resources produced by civil society groups which provide valuable advice, for example ‘Families Matter’ (www.familiesmatter.org.uk) run by Families Against Stress and Trauma.
