Q. How long have you worked at Tidcombe?

I started as Headteacher in January 2023.

Q. Do you lead a subject?

I lead the whole school. I also lead on Safeguarding and Pupil Premium. 

Q. Do you have a favourite subject?

I originally started my career as a Math's teacher, so I love Math's! I also have a passion for PE. 

Q. Have you had any careers aside from teaching?

Before I went into teaching, I had several careers including being a Housing Officer and a Business Advisor for the Royal Bank of Scotland. 

Q. What is your favourite book?

'Kensuke's Kingdom' by Micheal Morpurgo. I used to teach this to my Year 6s many years ago and the end of the story always creates a huge amount of excitement and emotion with the children. 

Q. What makes Tidcombe special?

The children, staff and wider community who all want the best for all the children. 

Q. Recommend one thing to do in the area for someone who has recently moved here.

Visit the stunning coastline and go bodyboarding/surfing. Saunton Sands, Croyde and Wolacombe are all great along the North Devon Coast.
